The judges for the show were K. Caldecott – British Section, A. Warren – Foreign Section, G. Lewsey – Zebra/Bengalese Section and D Horswell – Canary Section.  The total number of exhibitors and birds staged were up from 2009, however the Foreign and British sections were down, which may have been due to the show being held two weeks earlier than previous years or the extremely wet August especially with the British section as many of the would be exhibitors in this section reported that their birds were still in the moult but the quality of the exhibits entered was outstanding. Canaries were also included in the show for the first time so this added to the enjoyment. Due to holidays several show committee members were not available and Secretary Molly Durbin would like to express a big thank you to Ken Cox, Alan Worley and Mark Hemmings for stepping in to help in the office and Christine Tippett  our Catering Officer also extends her thanks for the help given in the kitchen by Tina Hemmings, an appreciation mug was presented to them at the end of the show.

Thanks also goes to the judge’s wives and friends who helped prepare the vegetables so all in all, a good day was had by both exhibitors and visitors to the society.
